WICKED has taken a phenomenal $1.5 million in ticket sales in just one day.

The Monday after opening at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre on 12 July, the rush for tickets set a new one-
day box office record for any Melbourne theatre. WICKED now holds $13 million in advance sales and
this week released a further 60,000 seats with tickets now on sale through to September 21.

The musical scores of the broadway musical wicked were recorded live on CD. This album featured many of the most beloved songs from Wicked the show. The wicked album won a Grammy award for Best Musical Show Album in 2005 and reached platnium status. While the recording is impressive, and offers a glimpse of what the show has to offer, Wicked simply must be seen to be fully appreciated. Any curious theater-goers, who have always wanted to see a broadway show, should try to find cheap Wicked tickets. When this show comes within drivin distance of peoples homes, may are known to drive to it every weeked because it is such a good musical.

With these record breaking awards on being the number one selling play as of 2009, 2010 and will most likely continue into 2011, you should make sure you see this.

Apparently the Witches of Oz love to sing, and I don’t blame them. With a cast few of talented singers, I wouldn’t mind if they sang all day and night, and I can assure that you would not mind either. After seeing this play your ears will have heard the most marvelous melodies that you have ever heard in your life. You will not be able to put this soundtrack down.

Very few plays can compare except for maybe Disney’s The Lion King and even that I would not exactly say has a better set of songs. The Wicked Soundtrack is very original, with many artists working on it.

Wicked music is at times very spooky and at other times very fun and fast paced. Being a very adventurous and fun play there are all different types of exciting musical devices used in this play. If you are a lover of musicals or of music in general you will not be disappointed by listening to the Wicked Songs.
